James sighed. "So exactly why are we here?" he asked. He gathered up the plates and rinsed them in the stream.

Deimos shook his head. "Don't ask me," he replied. This time he was tossing some wood on the campfire.

Frank took out his wallet and looked at a picture of his girlfriend. "I'll make it back home," he said quietly.

"Although I don't know what a DVD is," Cleve said, "I'll teach Matthew here whatever I can."

Cleve tried to teach Matthew about the Battle of Midway and was using rocks and sticks to simulate the American and Japanese units, but Cleve soon noticed Frank's grim mood.

"What's wrong, buddy?" Cleve asked, "You needn't worry. We will go back home. I'm certain of it."

Cleve tried to make the best smile he could. He was, after all, a Navy officer. His goal was to lead, and lead he will. He really believed in himself.

"I know I have to I've gotta propose to her when I get back home after the war is over," frank said showing cleve the picture of his girlfriend.

"I do wish all of you luck in getting back to your own time." Dan said as he continued to sit down and looked at the fire a little. "Looks like we found a place to stay where we are here and some folks to contact and avoid as well as sources of food and water." He said pausing. "Sounds like those basics are met. We can continue to sleep on the open like this or start making some shelter or look for some." He said looking around a bit as he spoke.

"Nice to hear," Cleve responded, "Wish I had a girl like that." Cleve smiled and looked up into the sun.

"Since we're probably the only humans around," Cleve said, "we can only help ourselves. All the basic necessities, as Dan said, are being meet. I say that we explore the area in such of better shelter, but we'll have to stick together. Who's with me?"

Frank put the picture back in his wallet then put the wallet in his pocket "I'll up for some exploring," frank said.

"That does sound like an idea. Maybe Deimos can show us around some nearby places & point out places to avoid." He said.

James looked sadly at the ground. "I was on my way to a camping expedition with my friends," he said. "They've probably initiated a missing persons search."

Deimos nodded. "I will be happy to serve as your guide. One word of advice, I suggest you do as I say when it comes to the dinosaurs," he said. "Also, I suggest two stay behind to watch the camp."

"I'll stay behind."

James rested the shotgun against the log.

Deimos picked up his stone knife. "All set to go?" he asked.

"Yep," Cleve said with enthusiasm, "Back on the USS Eldridge, They're probably looking for me too... If anyone is still alive."

Cleve grabbed his gun and tucked in into its holster. "Should we search by car or foot?"

"I'm ready as well." Dan said as he stood up, then thinking a bit before responding, "I think on foot may be best since the sound and smell of vehicles may attract quite a bit of attention since those are new to this world." Dan said, "Though it depends on what you folks prefer."

"Alright," Cleve responded, "I'm ready."

He picked up a large stick as both a walking stick and a weapon. He strolled behind Deimos.

"I'm ready," Cleve said with enthusiasm, "Are you guys ready?"

"Well if we're all ready let's move out," frank said. Frank thought about his girlfriend "I have to make it back home for her," he thought.

Deimos nodded. "Stay safe James," he said.

He then led his entourage towards the Feeding Grounds.

James nodded and stood ready with his shotgun. Dusk was approaching and the fire was burning out. He grabbed some wood that Deimos had helpfully gathered and stoked the fire some more.

Dan walked with the others. He thought it best to leave most of his stuff at the camp. He did take a few things, in case they would be handy.

"This should be interesting." Dan said.

"Yep," Cleve said. He strolled out in front, almost right next to Deimos. He used his walking stick to tap the ground in front of him, looking for possibles snakes and puddles.

The sun was already to set. He enjoyed the view. The sky was red, which meant good weather. Cleve marveled at this beautiful sight.

"Beautiful sight, huh?" Cleve whispered to the others. "After the war, I'll get myself a farm and watch the sunset every day... If I don't get chocked to death by that green fog."

"Dan," Cleve said, "What do you plan on doing after you get back?"

Dan paused, "yes, a marvelous sight indeed." He said. He then took out his smart cellphone to take a picture of the scene. Then he took a few others as well, moving a bit so each picture would not be exactly the same.

Dan looked at Cleve and shrugged a bit, "Among other things, get to my practice. That is where I was headed to in the morning before I wound up here." He said.
