It would be an understatement to say that Adykon was surprised by this. He was shocked. The Dark Master had infiltrated the adventuring party, and had come close to wiping out one of its most valuable members. Adykon's mind raced as the thought of it, but then he thought to himself "Why am I only seeing this in terms of strategy and power?! I ought to be sad about this! Eriol just suffered a blow from Dememoras as bad as the one I took when he killed Vaeri!"

Not quite sure how to say it, Adykon responded to the panther. "My gods, that must be... terrible. I know how it feels to lose a loved one. It hurts, and that kind of hurt never fully heals. Now we've both lost someone at the hands of Dememoras." It was true that the Dark Master had not killed Arianne, but to replace her with a copy and force her husband to kill her... it was like having his wife die twice.

Eriol listened to what Adykon said, but he didn't turned to face him. - "I have seen death, in many of it's forms, but the most painful one was to see my wife's death... and yes, I had to see that again, even if this time it was nothing but a cheap copy, it still felt... like her."

The Gaean gave a few more steps. - "Now I must also tell the others about what happened... I am just hoping that will not make them to act paranoid due to how the Mimics can disguise themselves so... perfectly." - He said that as he bared his teeth, still in anger, but then he gave a deep breathe. - "Well, we should go to the meeting place, Adykon."

"Well, we are here, more or less. I planned to hold a meeting in the throne room, and we just got here. I suppose I should go find that elf, Farstriker. Then, I ought to get Vespion, Lucien, Marcus Rhiga, Minna, Ilsa, maybe Margas, find out what happened to Toby, and see what's up with Violet, Ku'ux, and then see if Jake, Sasha, Rex, and Selturma are going with us."

Adykon did not yet know about Kayla or Exodar, nor did he know what had happened to Eternion. As for the fauxen... they had just disappeared in the battle, and Kravik and Sivar? They had since returned to their temple.

Marcus had jostled with the crowds of residents vying for food in the streets. The prices were unnecessarily high, but that was to be expected, they went up in a calamity, until the law stepped in to bring them under control, which hadn't happened yet
_ Marcus grew frustrated with the long lines " Lets head over to Minna's palace, hopefully she and Lucien won;t mind us borrowing some food, as we don't have all day to haggle over bread and fruit..' he said heading off in the direction of Minna;s palace. The Guards allowed them to pass before Misro cane up to them, in his claw he held a  summons' Adykon wishes to see you two at once..I have  a similar one  for the lord and lady but they are.. occupied at the moment, and it will likely be morning before they answer the summons."

Farstriker, for the time being, was still within the palace grounds, having gotten bored at the moment, asked for one of the servants hanging around, to go and fetch him some wine to drink, to which they agreed to do so, especially after hearing that he was with Adykon.  They had returned with some wine for him, handing him a glass of it, to which he just sat there, his feet upon the table as he sipped the wine, unaware that all were to meet in the throne room.

Ku'ux on the other hand, was within the market place, his axe having being sharpened from the blacksmith, to which he had gone to retrieve it, keeping it in top condition as well as he held it in his grasp, walking down the market streets, snorting at some of the guards that walked past him.

Adykon entered the firing range and found Farstriker. The elf was drinking some wine, looking bored. The Dracon warrior had come to change all that.

"So, elf, are you ready to join the adventuring party? You know the risks and the reason why we fight, I trust. Are you absolutely sure you wish to embark on such a quest?"

Farstriker sipped the wine some more as he looked over to Adykon and waited for what he had to say before answering "But of course, this is why I had come in the first place anyway"

He paused for a moment, sniffing the wine a bit as well "By the way, I must compliment your servants on having such great taste in wine as well"

"Thanks, but... they're not my servants. You should thank the king, when you see him. I'm not the lord of this palace, nor I am even a lord. I'm a mercenary, you know. I'm not serving for money this time... at least, not much. There are bigger things at stake now. Come, we should go to the throne room. The king is asleep for now, but we still have much to do. I'm gathering the party to discuss our next move."

Truthfully, Adykon had been promised an estate in a bucolic valley if he defeated Dememoras, although he would have fought the Dark Master either way.

"Very well then, I'll be sure to do that" Farstriker told Adykon back as he finished off the wine and handed it to a nearby servant "So, shall we?" he asked as he then followed Adykon off to the throne room.

Meanwhile, one of the guards approached Ku'ux "You've been summoned to the throne room"

Ku'ux looked to the guard, but said nothing, since he, of course, still didn't really like the guards around as he just walked off towards the palace, walking past the guards that were guarding the palace as he entered the throne room, looking at who were already there.

Now Adykon, Eriol, Farstriker and Ku'ux were all gathered in the throne room. "Good. Some of us are here. We still don't have enough to set off to where I planned for us to go. Hmm. We will need Vespion, Rhiga, Minna, Ilsa, Marcus, and Lucien to join us, at the very least."

Adykon's plan was to find an ally, and a powerful one at that, one who had helped him before during the battle against Arcantas.

"So, what did you want me for?" Ku'ux asked Adykon in particular as he looked to Farstriker "And who's the elf?" he snorted some.

"Farstriker, at your service if you please" the elf answered back with a little bow, extending his hand to shake Ku'ux's.

Ku'ux looked at Farstriker for a moment before shaking his hand back, to which Farstriker spoke once again "I have not seen another minotaur around before, such an honour to see such an elegant and unique creature of your....stature"

Ku'ux snorted some more "Don't try and flatter me with any of your kind words, it wont work elf" he replied back.

"Okay...." Farstriker answered back, a little confused on Ku'ux's attitude at the moment, perhaps the minotaur did not trust him as much, or perhaps it was something else, he wasn't sure himself, yet, for the time being at least, just shrugged it off, brushing it aside as one would say.

"Good to see you both. Come, have a seat, all of you. If we are going to stop Dememoras, we shall need more information. We also need to gather allies. Let there be no illusions; the odds against us surviving are low. The odds of us defeating Dememoras are even lower."

Adykon took a deep breath before continuing. "For those of you who don't know, Dememoras has powers beyond anything we can match. The entire party combined could not beat him. I have my doubts that even the whole of the palace guard could hold their own in a fight with him, much less defeat that monster."

"Then how do you propose we stop him?" Farstriker asked as a servant handed him some more wine in a grail, to which he sipped it some.

Ku'ux snorted slightly "I take it you have some sort of plan on what to do about Dememoras?" he decided to ask next.

"Good point, because if you say he has powers that outmatch us all combined, then there has to be another way around stopping the threat of Dememoras, but the question remains on what that plan is and what it entitles" Farstriker spoke again, sipping some more of the wine, enjoying the taste of the wine as well, but of course, not getting drunk off it.

"To tell you the truth... I don't know how to stop him. That's why we need to learn more about him. I do know someone who might know more, and I know that no matter what we do to him, we also need to fight his army."

This was true. Even if Dememoras were to disappear tomorrow, he still had over a million soldiers, and powerful allies.

"And who is this person you speak of? Is he a friend of yours by any chance? Will he actually help out willingly?" Farstriker asked Adykon as he sipped more of his wine.

"And if he doesn't help out willingly?" Ku'ux decided to add in, to get the other side of the story as one could say.

"I speak of Aerta. She's an archmage who helped me to defeat Arcantas, an archmage who served Dememoras... and the one who started me on this adventure, coincidentally. Her husband was also an archmage, and another one of Dememoras's many victims. She has contacted me in my mind, in my thoughts, in my dreams. I know she will aid us, if we help her. You see, Aerta's palace, or rather, the palace of her late husband, is under siege by Dememoras's forces, and has been for quite some time. I don't know exactly where she is, but I intend to find out. If we can save her, I know she will be a powerful ally."

She was more than an ally. Aerta and Adykon had known each other in a dream, and shared each their souls. Surely, she was more than a party member to Adykon, and more than a friend, even if they had only met once in person.

"Ah, so this Aetra girl is in trouble, yet, you do not know where she is....but I take it that you have a plan of some sort on how to find her?" Farstriker asked as he had soon finished his cup of wine and recieved a refil of the wine.

"Sounds like a bit of a far stretch, doesn't it?" Ku'ux asked as well, sounding a bit skeptic about it as well.

Adykon was incensed at that remark. "I will find her! Either we can scry for her, or she will tell me where to find her when she contacts me next. I believe that her palace is warded against scrying and other means of directly finding her, but there's always a way around that. It isn't that hard; we just need to get from point A to point B, and return with someone. That isn't so terrible. She's helped me before, and she has no love of Dememoras. We have both lost someone at his hands."

This was true; Aerta lost her husband when Dememoras blew him up, whereas Adykon lost Vaeri when the Dark Master blasted her right in front of him, depriving Rhiga and Kos of a mother.

"And don't you worry Adykon, even though we have only just meet, I will help you find her, one way or another, as if she can help us stop Dememoras, then finding her is essential, Dememoras has to be stopped somehow" Farstriker spoke back, sipping more of the wine again.

"I have to agree with the elf, we must find this girl you are speaking of, but the question still remains how we are to find her" Ku'ux added on, folding his arms by that point.

"She's a bit older than a girl. In fact, I don't know how old she is, although Aerta looked fairly young when I saw her last. I would say she's no older than 30. In any case, my kind lives for a very long time, and stays young in appearance for most of our lives. You can call her a 'girl' if you wish, but I don't think she would like that." Adykon replied.

Meanwhile...

Rhiga was still with Marcus at the marketplace, while Selturma was still with Rex, Jake, Sasha, and Kayla. Exodar was in Rex's house, still lying stunned on the couch. Vespion had been treating the wounded in a hospital when a messenger was sent for him. He was to report to the palace and meet Adykon. After stopping off at his temple to get a new set of black robes, the cleric was on his way to meet the rest of the adventuring party. As for Violet and Toby, no one seemed to know where they were.
