Legend 11:
The Plague Valley
The Great Valley celebrated the entire ceremony all night long. Pure joy sprouted from every spirit of the valley.
Angel danced all night with Petrie by her side. Although, Petrie was not a very good dancer, Angel even chuckled certain times when he got some of the dance steps wrong, but she would gently correct the errors and keep dancing.
The special dance, Petrie came to find out just by watching the Air Clan, it was a combo of belly dancing and the fighting Air Clan technique,Wind Dancing. He felt stupid and awkward missing some of the steps and seeing the other Air Clan members dancing rapidly and smoothly.
“Petrie, you know that song that we sang earlier? That’s not in Air Clan’s native tongue.” Angel stated to him.
Petrie listened to her intently and his expression seemed to say, “Really?”
Angel continued, “Would you like to learn the Air Clan language?”
“Sure okay,” Petrie replied.
“Alright, follow me.” Angel took Petrie by the hand and pulled him aside from the crowd and sat him down on the side lines.
“Okay, say this,”
Once Angel opened her mouth in her native tongue, it sounded like eerie echoes bouncing off the cliff side. Petrie never heard of such an accent. She also pronounced the words easily so Petrie could hear them more clearly.
“Anernerk”
“Anernerk.”
Angel said again, “Anernerk anana,”
Petrie replied, “Anernerk, anana,”
Angel said next, “Anernerk anana Ujara.”
Petrie repiled, “Anernerk anana, ujara,”
“Anernerk tu anana.”
“Anernekr tu anana.”
Angel then said, “Anernerk tu Quvianuq ujara.”
Petrie then says, “Anernerk tu Quvianuq ujara.”
Angel smiles a very angelic, sweet smile and hugs Petrie in a sweet embrace.
Petrie asked in a somewhat clueless tone, “Um, what did I say?”
Angel whispered in his ear, “You said, “Angel is feeling joy around Petrie.”
Petrie blushed madly and Angel kissed him on the cheek.
Petrie then asked, “So, your name in Air Clan tongue is “Anernerk?”
Angel nodded. “I’m not really supposed to tell you that, but I wanted to anyway.”
Petrie looked side-aways, feeling a bit uncomfortable, but then says, “Then my name is Ujara?”
Angel nodded, “Yes, it means, “rock” or “stone”.”
Angel got herself up and said, “Sorry if you got uncomfortable, I just really like you, you know.”
Petrie stood up, “Yeah, I know,”
Petrie kissed Angel on the beak, “I really like you too.”
Angel blushed in reply.
Once the chanting of the singers and the energy of all of the dancing died down, Angel introduced some of the Air Clan warriors to Petrie such as Air Whistler, who was deaf, yet could feel the beat of the energy forces around him.
“This is Air Whistler, he’s deaf, but he was almost always the first of us to spot sharp teeth.” The older blue and white colored flyer smiled and nodded respectfully to Petrie. The younger flyer returned the nod by giving the same gesture.
“This is Light Dancer; she gave us all positive influence even in the darkest of times.”
Angel gestured toward Light Dancer, a pretty, light red flyer with a golden colored “collar” and big dazzling yellow eyes with some dark red accent in them.
Light Dancer had an accent Petrie never heard of before.
“I heard a lot about you Petrie, is it true that you are the nephew of Prince Pterano of Blood Clan?”
Petrie’s smile faded and his eyes traveled down to his feet. His hands were behind his back and he bit his lower beak. Through gritted teeth, he replied to Light Dancer.
“Y-yes, it is true.”
Angel sighed in frustration, crossed her arms and cleared her throat as she looked to Light Dancer in a “watch it” expression with her icy blue-silvery eyes.
Light Dancer put her hands to her beak and gasped at what she said.
“Oh, right,” Light Dancer lightly laid her hand on Petrie’s arm. Petrie looked up and saw big yellow dazzling eyes.
“I am very sorry Petrie.”
Petrie smiled softly and discreetly replied to the big-hearted flyer.
“It’s alright, thank you Light Dancer.”
Petrie walked away from Light Dancer and waited for Angel to introduce the other clan members.
Petrie came to know every clan member in Air Clan. Most of them were polite towards him, however, very few showed signs of relaxation when he was in their presence.
One elderly light gray, crest-less flyer with a bruised eye, Dark Eye, only made a gruff noise once Angel introduced him. Before he turned away from the younger flyers, he glared at Petrie for a few moments as if scanning him.
Petrie had a nervous expression once the older flyer was out of sight.
Angel nudged her shoulder against his.
“Don’t worry about him. Dark Eye is just not comfortable in social situations and he’s been through a lot,”
Angel’s smile disappeared instantly, looked to her clan members, and sighed.
“Everyone has.”
There was an uneasy silence between the two young flyers.
Petrie was the first to break the silence.
“Um, how about I introduce you to my siblings?”
Angel smiled amiably.
“Sure, that would be nice.”
Petrie led Angel to Rebecca and a group of young flyers that must have been Petrie’s siblings.
“Hi everyone!” Petrie replied to his family as the looked back at him.
They all said “hi” back to both Petrie and Angel.
“This is Angel,” Petrie explained and Angel bowed once she was introduced.
“Angel these are my siblings,” Petrie then began to introduce his siblings.
“Branson,” A light bluish male flyer with light brown eyes bowed formerly to Angel.
“Nice to meet you Angelina.”
Angel chuckled at the younger flyer’s sophistication.
“Nice to meet you too, however you can just call me Angel.”
Branson looked up to her with red accenting his cheeks.
Petrie smiled slyly at the sight of this. Still, he continued the introduction.
“This is Kalman and Reba.”
Angel narrowed her eyes at the two flyers. They both were fiery orange colored flyers with amber eyes. Angel shook her head and blinked a bit to see if her mind was playing tricks with her. However, the flyers remained identical.
“Well, I always had trouble with names, but the fact that you two look alike is going to be even harder for me to call you by the right names!”
One of them replied to Angel, who evidently was one of Petrie’s sisters.
“Well, by our voices you can tell which is which.”
Kalman sneered as he approached Angel.
“You have the hots for my brother huh?”
Petrie slapped his face with his hand and let out an exasperated sigh.
Angel looked at Kalman uneasily and tried to think of a good answer to this question.
Angel shrugged and blushed in reply, “Well, I guess you could say that,”
Kalman then chanted, “Petrie and Angel sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G,”
Petrie exclaimed, “Man you're so immature!”
Rebecca calmly stated to her sons, “Kalman, your brother is right, that is an impolite thing to do with guests around. And Petrie, be nice to your brother.”
“Yes mom.” Petrie and Kalman said at the same time.
Angel chuckled at this particular scene.
Another dark blue female flyer hid behind Rebecca. She gently nudged her daughter a bit forward. Her daughter looked to her mom with large worrisome bright violet eyes.
Her mother nodded encouragingly for her to go forward. She gulped softly and looked to Angelina and forced herself to smile shyly.
“Hi...Shaman Angelina,” She seemed to shake as she held her hand out to Angelina. “It’s v...ery nice to meet you. I’m Marie.”
Angel smiled softly with complete compassion and replied politely with a bow. “Very nice to meet you too Marie.”
Marie jerked her hand back as her body became tense and completely shaken up. Then she turned red, realizing shaking hands was not the custom among the Air Clan.
Reba then spoke to Angel next in forming a question.
“I’m just curious, is it true about what happened to your parents and about us being related to Blood Clan?”
Angel looked to Reba puzzled and a little irritated that she was asked that. She then looked to Petrie with a questioning expression. Petrie repiled with tension in his voice,
“Um, she wanted to know what was going on and I kind of have a hard time keeping secrets. Sorry.”
Angel then looked to Rebecca, hoping not to disrespect the older flyer by saying the wrong thing. Rebecca humbly nodded to Angel with her eyes slightly closed, since she knew what would come next.
Angel looked to Reba, but this time, Reba had Kalman, Branson, and Marie by her side. Angel sighed and explained.
“Yeah, my parents did die because of Blood Clan. And yes, you are related to them.”
Angel turned slightly away, expecting the siblings to loathe her and yell at her, but to her surprise, it was completely the opposite.
Marie stalled and looked to her siblings as if she was speaking to them mentally. Then she was the first to step toward her and she hug her. Angel gasped at this and she hugged back.
“Thanks, that’s sweet of you.” Angel replied.
“I’m sorry that happened to you.” Marie replied back.
Reba, Kalman, and Branson looked back at their mom with a deep rage that seemed to have affected the energy in the atmosphere in the smallest way.
Reba spoke with hot boiling tears starting to from in her eyes. “Mom, why didn’t you tell us any of that?”
“Yeah, and why didn’t you tell us the truth when the other dinosaurs made fun of us?” Kalman chimed in.
Rebecca breathed before she could say anything else, and she prayed to the spirits that she would say the right things.
“Well, first of all, I did not want to tell any of your the truth because we do unfortunately have a dark history in our family. So I hid it from you so you wouldn’t have to carry the same burden that I did.”
Reba and Kalman had flaring anger making them only see red. Marie was just horrified of the thought of herself being related to the most hated clan on the face of Mother Earth. Branson looked to the horizon where the sun was rising, having its rays stretched out over the land, he seemed to think of something else beyond of what the others were currently talking about. The dark blue male flyer suddenly felt a sheer chill through his body and shivered. Angel noticed his movement and she touched his shoulder gently. Branson took a small as at her as Angel asked,
“Branson, you’re shivering. Are you okay?”
Branson hugged himself and repiled as he stared into the horizon.
“It’s just a little cold, that’s all.” He repiled as he shivered some more.
Angel leaned against him and looked to the horizon as well. She closed her eyes and she suddenly heard voices among the wind. She heard an eerie female voice that gave a cry that made her small and almost unnoticeable hairs stand on end.
AHHHHH!!!!!!!
(His pestilence descends on the land, to wrap the land in his Black embrace. Dead souls stir within the crypt of Jagged Fang’s hell.)
Angel’s eyes shot open and she twirled around to the others and suddenly stopped all of the arguing that was happening.
“You don’t notice the winds?”
Everyone looked to her with puzzled and shocked expressions.
Petrie asked, “What do you mean?”
Angel closed her eyes and breathed in and out. She bit her lower lip than replied, “The winds were telling me something, but it wasn’t the council that was giving me the message, it was something else.”
Kalman laughed at her. “How could the winds “talk” to you? It’s just the wind!”
Angel shrugged, “You just don’t get it. The council has different ways of speaking to us, we just have to open our ears and minds, and listen.”
While the younger flyers were talking, Rebecca heard some crackling in the her cliff home.
“Quiet! I hear something in the den.” Rebecca stated to the younger flyers. They obediently stopped and Petrie asked, “What is it?”
She turned toward her cave and looked around for the source of the noise. She repiled without looking at her son.
“I don’t know Petrie. That’s what I am going to find out.”
She turned to the water source that she and her children would drink out of. Petrie followed her and stared to the middle of the water hole. What they saw was the most completely revolting, most strangest thing they have ever seen.
Bubbles multiplied in the water and dead bugs, frogs, and bones of dinosaurs drenched the water into a muck of corpse water, making the water toxic and undrinkable. Suddenly, wings were heard in the muck, and out of the corpses, newly blood suckers arose from the water and the bugs swarm around the two flyers.
Rebecca shielded Petrie from the bugs with her wings and they both ran out of the den. They screeched in warning to the younger flyers.
“Fly! Blood suckers!”
Everyone looked the den and Kalman questioned, “Blood suckers, what the...?”
The swarm buzzed about and aimed at her direction. All of the flyers took off and screeched to everyone else in the the Great Valley. Everyone looked up with fear clouding their expressions. Even in the horizon of the sun, the “blood suckers” emerged from the rays, as if the sun actually carried the pests with it and littered them all within the Great Valley.
A dark energy force rippled through to the Great Valley and back to Bone Valley. A small mound-like temple at the feet of the Jagged Palace was the source of the dark energy that fled away from the womb of the temple and into the purity and tranquility of the Great Valley. Inside of the temple, the energy of the dark spirits stirred as the priests and servants chanted in a steady pace, yet the song sent shivers down the spine of those who do not believe in Jagged Fang’s teachings. The Soul Shrinker lead the chorus with a haunting and unearthly voice.

The Soul Shrinker lifted her arms in praise and every slave in Blood Clan, every servant, every prisoner, every member of Blood Clan sang in praise to Jagged Fang, in hopes the Great Valley will be saved.
The children sang the first two phrases.
Ι σενδ Ηισ πεστιλενψε ανδ πλαγθε.. (I send His pestilence and plague...)
Ιντο υοθρ ηοθσε, (Into your house)
Back in the Great Valley, the “blood suckers” that came and destroyed the water, also destroyed the lives of three out of eleven Air Clan members. Light Dancer, Air Whistler, and a senior warrior named Ring Tail. However, within the Great Valley herd, half of Ducky’s sisters died, and only one of the short necks (iguana-dons) lived. A poor young short false sharp tooth (Hypsilophodon) lost his father. He was enraged by this so much that had to bash his head against a tree and just went ballistic. Also, not only did some dinosaurs die, others simply were sick. Tria and many of the other dinosaurs fell under the plague. They had bumps all over their bodies and itched so much it hurt.
Angel was surprised by the lack of knowledge these dinosaurs had will illnesses.
Angel happened to be near where the False Sharp teeth was. She saw that young false sharp tooth grieving over his father’s body. His two other companions, a club tail and a rather simple looking duck-billed like dinosaur.
“Gee Hyp, we’re sorry, Mutt and I both are.”
He elbowed Mutt hoping he would say something.
“Right Mutt?”
Eight seconds later, Mutt responded with his oh so famous, “Oh, well, yeah!”
Hyp’s eyelids were closed with extreme tension. He reopened them and jerked his head toward his friends with a hostile glare.
“LEAVE ME ALONE!” He yelled at them.
Without question, they ran off, well away from Hyp.
Angel shook her head as she saw this scenario take place.
Hyp stared after them, then at his father’s carcass. He turned his body toward the carcass and kneeled to it so he could feel strength release from him in an instant.
At this, Angel approached to the other side of the corpse. She kneeled down as well. She looked to Hyp with complete compassion in her pure sky blue eyes. Hyp felt someone’s stare drilling in his skull, but he didn’t dare look up to meet that stare with his teary eyes.
“Can I help bury your father? Or do you have another custom to honor your dead?”
Angel asked discreetly and kindly. Hyp couldn’t reply, so Angel went to his side and hugged him. Now, usually if anyone dared to hug Hyp, they would be in big trouble. Hyp however needed this attention. He wanted this so badly, he just didn’t know how to ask.
“Thank you.” He let out a teary mumble. Angel repiled in a simple and so gentle way. “It is my duty. I have to help others.”
Hyp’s soul instantly melted being embraced by the beautiful warrior.
Hyp loosened himself out of Angel’s embrace later and they end up face to face. Hyp suddenly felt shy and looked down. He mumbled, “Well, okay, you can help me bury my father if you’d like.”
Angel smiled and got herself up and went to the other side of the carcass. Hyp got himself up and they both carried the carcass under the dead tree. All of the false sharp teeth of the Great Valley followed them so they could Zona also came to them and helped them dig a hole for the body.
After the burial was over, the healer, the shaman, and all of the false sharp teeth surrounded the burial place. They all kneeled and bowed very low and aloud they said their prayers to the dead false sharp tooth’s spirit.
After the short moment of honoring the spirits, only Angel and Hyp remained at Hyp’s father’s burial place.
“I am so sorry this happened to you.” Angel spoke from behind. Hyp exhaled his breath and turned to face her. “Again, thanks, I have been known to be really mean and kind of bossy towards others. You are different than everyone else, I can see that.”
Angel nodded. “Most of the people I have met in my travels have told me that. They believe I am different than your “average” teen dinosaur.” She shrugs. “I guess that’s true, but what is “average” anyway?”
Hyp smiled softly and felt the need to talk more. Angel sensed this, so she said before Hyp could speak.
“Hey, I wish I could talk to you more, but I do have to take care of others,” Angel shrugged as she continued, “just being a shaman and all. Maybe we’ll talk more at the end of the day?”
Hyp nodded. “Thanks,” Hyp exhaled his breath again. “Thanks for everything.”
Angel bowed and then took off the ground to see if anyone else needed help.
Later, when Angel saw Tria try to scratch herself, Angel immediately came over to Tria, laid a hand on her side, and said to her, “Follow me. I can help you.”
Angel and the other shamans did what they could to help the ill dinosaurs, they could not stop to grieve. However, many of the others grieved deeply for their lost relatives.
Ducky kneeled into the polluted water and watched the corpses of her dead sisters leave her sight. She threw her head upward and gave out a loud bellow of complete melancholy. Anne hugged Ducky tight and kept saying “I’m sorry” repeatedly. Ducky figured she was saying sorry to her for not paying close attention to the water, or was saying sorry to the spirits of her dead daughters. Then Ducky figured it was both. Spike also ran up to them and cried along with them. Next, Ducky and Spike’s remaining sisters came forward to embrace their mom, Spike and Ducky.
The servants sang the other three lines.
Ιντο υοθρ νεστ, (into your nest)
The second day of the plagues in the Great Valley, the eggs in many of the of the nest crumbled and withered because of another disease, a chemical was released into the air, and apparently, the eggs were too weak and too delicate to ignore it. The furry tailed creatures also devoured most of them, but of course, because of their weak bodies, they died from eating the poisoned eggs. Even some egg stealers came in and ate them as well as crushed them. The Air Clan warriors would easily send them away or throw the dead, poison infested bodies outside of the Great Valley, but Riku made Roan imprison one youth egg stealer. Roan bound his hands behind his back and made him kneel on the ground.
Riku was enraged at the sight of a Blood Clan egg stealer and his choker around his neck. “How dare you come here and steal the unborn when the times are tough and merciless! You are as greedy and soul-less as Black Death himself!”
The egg stealer bowed low to Riku’s outburst, and cried in terror, “This is nothing personal, it is only to please my Savior and His Pestilence! Besides, Black Death is not cold and soul-less, he’s...”
Riku’s rage was in control and Riku did not give the egg stealer the time of day.
“How dare you come here and speak of that monster so openly! Your clan is the cause of all of this turmoil!”
At this point, Kaskae appeared with Reggie and Zona walking along with him. Riku was about to open his mouth to speak again, but Kaskae looked at him in a way that made Riku shut his beak at once. Kasake then turned his head to the shaking egg stealer.
“Release him Roan.” Kaskae looked to the red flyer. Roan obeyed and the egg stealer moved his hands slowly to the ground. He kowtowed before Kaskae. The old shaman kneeled down and had his hands on the egg stealer’s back. He embraced the egg stealer.
Everyone around them was struck dumb by this. Even Zona thought Kaskae’s action was questionable.
The egg stealer shook even more and cried right on Kaskae’s chest. He feared looking at the gentle shaman’s expression.
Kaskae then looked to Zona and directed her. “Zona, take this youth to the cleanest water we have and have him wash his face. Then let him rest under that shady dead tree, south of the Great Valley.”
Zona bowed. “Yes Kaskae.” Then she took the egg stealer by the hand and the embrace was released. After the two figures were gone from the other three flyer’s sights, Kaskae got himself up and simply said as he looked at each face around him, “Do what you must to help everyone.”
“My egg, is she alright? Where is she?” Tria talked like a mad, savage sharp tooth that was caught and cornered into a small space. Zona came to her side and calmly said with her smooth, silky voice, with a smile, “Your egg is fine. She is being looked after by Angel, Cera, and Mr. Threehorn. Your egg will be fine in their care I assure you.”
The women members of Air Clan went to each nest and blessed every strong egg around. They said a prayer to the eggs and their families guarding it. Angel blessed Tria’s egg and stated in Inuit, “Oh spirits of peace, love, the home and family, guide and protect us through this terrible time.”
Cera couldn’t believe it, but she found herself praying along with Angel. And she never prayed before, not even when she was separated from her parents in the earth shake! Mr. Three Horn prayed along immediately. Even though he was one not to believe in anything or anyone but himself and his views, he felt he had no other choice. He was desperate to save his family from this plague.
Ιντο υοθρ στρεαμσ (Into your streams)
Ιντο υοθρ δρινκ (Into your drink)
The Great Valley’s water was already contaminated with corpses and mosquitoes. However, another thing would also happen to the water. Not only did it become dirty, but it was drying up!
Angel and everyone was in shock by the third day of the plague. The sun was scorching hot and every source of water was sucked right out of the whole valley. Dehydrated everyone was, so much, most of the Great Valley members ran around in a crazy faze, looking the precious liquid they relied on. They tore every bush, broke every rock and boulder, insanely thirsty, out of their mind crazy, they would not care to give their share if they found any water.
A few dinosaurs though, kept a level head and gently looked through the torn bushes, broken rocks and boulders, even in the dirt. The egg stealer that was shunned by Riku and many of the others found a tiny bit of water source on a half dried leaf. Dew would have been the correct term for it.
The egg stealer showed Dust Shoulder this and generously gave him all of it. Dust Shoulder nodded to him in gratitude and licked the water all up. It felt good tasting pure liquid again.
Ιντο υοθρ φοοδ (Into your food)
The fourth day of the plagues, Angel was a look-out along with Water Rose and a senior warrior, Snap Tail. They slept on the mountainous-like wall around the Great Valley and under the sun’s currently hostile rays, which woke them up immediately, telling them, something else was coming. Angel awoke to the sound of buzzing, she slowly opened her eyes to the horizon, and as if the sun was a hand, it poured out bugs, not mosquitos, but nasty parasites, “leaf gobblers”.
Angel closed her eyes to hope that this was an imaginary nightmare, but she shot open her eyes once again and got up to wake the older flyers. When Water Rose was asleep, but Snap Tail was no where in sight.
“Water Rose, get up now!” Angel violently shook the older warrior and the warrior woke up with a snarl. “Angel, what’s wrong with you? I had a great peaceful sleep and you just ruined it for me!”
Angel inhaled and exhaled trying to relax herself and explain herself to Water Rose.
“Look on the horizon, what do you see?” Angel pointed her finger to the bug infested horizon.
Water Rose gasped as she saw the bugs aiming toward her.
Water Rose grabbed Angel by the wrist.
“C’mon, let’s go find Snap Tail!”
They kept calling for him as they flew down from the mountain wall to the Great Valley. Suddenly, a screech was heard right over them. Their warrior friend was in sight.
“Snap Tail!” Water Rose and Angel echoed.
Snap Tail jerked himself to be beside them. He replied almost apathetically,
“Just keep going, tell Kaskae and the others and get as much food as you can from those beastly bugs.”
They flew high above the valley until they found Kaskae and the everyone else talking in the heart of the Great Valley. The three of them were puzzled by this, but once they heard the shaman’s voices and Grandpa longneck’s voice of anticipation, they understood.
“Get as much vegetation as you can! They will devour every plant in sight!” Kaskae added with an uncommon stern voice and pointed to the boulder he stood upon, “And get them all under this boulder! I assure you, they will not be crushed!”
Without haste, everyone grabbed every vegetation they could find and put them under the boulder. Sure enough, they were not crushed.
The leaf gobblers spread all through the valley. Everyone screamed and the Air Clan warriors did their best to draw them out with their fighting techniques, it was unsuccessful. No matter how many they drew back, they always came back to devour more and more.
The youth warriors sang the next two lines.
Θπον υοθρ φριενδσ (Upon your friends)
Θπον υοθρ φαμιλυ ιν τηε φιελδ (Upon your family in the field)
The next day, everything was dried up. All the Great Valley had now was food under a boulder. The majority of dinosaurs in the Great Valley had black bumps all over them. They vomited blood and could almost not move at all. They had high fevers and ached with so much physical and emotional pain.
Only Kaskae knew of this disease. He didn’t give a name for it though. One thing Mother Earth needed less was one more negative thing towards her.
“Take a leaf to your nose and mouth to block the plague from entering your temple.” He instructed the younger shamans and the helper healer. They took dried up leaves from the ground and placed them around their mouths and tied the ends to keep them from falling off.
“Now carry the sickly one under a tree or a place with shade so it will help cool the heat.”
They went out and took one sickly dinosaur. Angel took one of Ducky’s sisters under a shaded tree. Reggie took Dust Shoulder next to a shaded rock. Riku took Roan under a shaded den. Zona lead Grandpa Longneck under the shaded tree next to Ducky’s sister. Right after that, they did not need to be directed anymore. Reggie, Riku, and Zona did not need to be directed anymore. They healed plenty of dinosaurs before this disaster. Angel on the other hand never actually completely healed anyone of her clan. So Kaskae kindly went to help her.
“Sit next to her Angel, put your hand over her body, but don’t touch her body, and hum.”
Angel did everything that she was told. The vibration of Angel’s humming was so powerful, it put a bit more stamina back into Ducky’s sister. Ducky’s sister drastically lived after that.
Then the absolute warriors sang two lines.
Ιντο υοθρ σλεεπ (Into your sleep)
Ιντο υοθρ δρεαμσ (Into your dreams)
The Great Valley was literally a living nightmare. The majority of dinosaurs died of the major diseases. In Air Clan what used to be a total of fifteen members, then eleven, now, only ten. Kaskae, Riku, Reggie, Angel, Zona, Maya, Water Rose, Roan, Snap Dragon, and Enrich were the only Air Clan warriors left. With Kaskae the oldest and Angel the youngest.
In the Great Valley herd, were there used to be a massive number of dinosaurs, now there were only very few dinosaurs left. With Ducky’s family, only her, Spike, Anne, and half of her twelve sisters survived.
Cera’s family was lucky to some extent. Everyone in Cera’s family survived, but Tria was starting to get very protective of her egg. So protective to the point where she did not want ANYONE to go near her egg. Not even her mate. Cera’s family eventually started breaking up.
Little Foot and both of his grandparents survived, but both of his grandparents were becoming weak to the point where they couldn’t feed themselves. Little Foot had to take care of them. Air Clan and his friends helped him of course, but it was hard work trying to feed and take care of two very large longnecks.
Petrie’s family hardly suffered at all. Although they did suffer from the physical pain of the plagues harming them. They even suffered more from emotional pain.
“Our family is cursed. No doubt about it!” Marie cries out as she observed the suffering of the Great Valley.
Rebecca did not know how to reply to this. In way, yes, they were cursed, but it wasn’t necessarily her children that were cursed. It was her and the Blood Clan imperials.
“No Marie.” Rebecca tries to comfort her daughter. She embraces her daughter and says, “You and your siblings will be fine. I promise you. No matter what happens.”
Petrie, asleep under the shaded tree turned violently to one side from the other and coughed every so now and then. He unfortunately fell under the deadly plague that made him have bumps, have a warm forehead, and cough out blood. His chest ached of coughing so much. His voice changed drastically to having a voice like an elderly flyer. He wanted water so badly, yet there was none to quench his thirst.
“You will be saved by him.” Petrie was in a black space, yet he heard voices. Very eerie yet familiar voices.
“HELLO? WHO’S THERE?” Petrie frantically yells, desperate for an instant answer.
“You will be saved...”
“SAVED BY WHO?”
Suddenly, something sharp, like nagging claws curled into his flesh. His screeched vibrated the blackness that blanketed him. Blood was gushing out in every direction from Petrie’s body.
“You will be saved me, Jagged Fang.”
“NO! LEAVE ME ALONE!”
Θντιλ υοθ βρεακ, θντιλ υοθ υιελδ (Until you break, until you yield)
Like the possessed souls that they were, all of Blood Clan chanted with an eerie, malevolent joy. Even the children of Blood Clan seemed to take joy of singing the curse to the once known Great Valley. The Soul Shrinker led the chorus. His Pestilence simply observed on his perch, which was right at the head of the Jagged Palace. He slowly walked to his personal altar in a corpse-like matter. Starring right him, with her domineering eyes was his Master, his Savior, his past life, Goddess Jagged Fang. He kowtowed before the painting and murmured a prayer of luck and prosperity for his clan and for the Great Valley’s souls.
“Γρεατ Γοδδεσσ, Ξαγγεδ Φανγ, Ι σενδ υοθρ σςαρμσ,” (Great Goddess Jagged Fang, I send your swarms)
The chant of the Blood Clan matched his prayer.
“Ι σενδ υοθρ ηορδε, τηθσ σαιτη Υοθ ανδ τηε Λορδ!” (I send your horde, thus saith You and the Lord)
Surrounding the Great Valley, all around the mountainous wall, were littered with Blood Clan warriors. Blood Fang lead one set of Blood Clan warriors in the east of Blood Clan. Pterano lead one set in the west. Most of the warriors waited in sheer anticipation for their kill. Some of the youth Blood Clan warriors never had a tooth to claim as a prize on their chokers, so they were the most impatient of all of the warriors.
“Pterano, this valley has been plagued enough as it is. Don’t you think we should attack them now?” Blood Fang asked Pterano in the most innocent way.
Pterano, without looking at his older sister’s expression knew she was testing him. Pterano was beat red in complete embarrassment and annoyance. However, he remained having a mundane tone and matter as he replied without looking at her, but at the suffering valley, “Wait for my signal and when my set of warriors come in and distract them, your stronger batch will attack them from behind.
“Also Pterano, do we have sharp teeth at the north and south of the Great Valley? Obviously we should cover all sides of the valley, you know, just in case some of them escape.”
Pterano’s temper suddenly got the better of him, he glared at his older sister and met her flaming odd eyes.
“Why do you test me like this? I’m not a child anymore! I know what I am doing! Otherwise, why would we be here?”
Blood Fang snapped back in a more darker, but softer tone so less ears could hear her. She whispered in her brother’s ear.
“I know why. You want our father to love you for the five-hundred thousand time! Jagged Fang is the one that is watching your every move! I mean c’mon, when you die and when I die, I know because of my status with Blood Clan and Jagged Fang, I will be in Jagged Fang’s heaven. You will be in just the opposite!”
Pterano snapped back. “I am trying to do what is best for Blood Clan and for those unworthy dinosaurs below us!”
Blood Fang snapped again before she took off to join her set in the eastern side of the Great Valley. “Spike-tail dirt! You don’t think that way about them at all! I know you don’t in your core of core, you still have compassion for them! You just want status of Blood Clan! Pterano, you are higher than us within the spirits of the council, but you are the lowest of the low in Jagged Fang’s Palace! And I’m not talking about the one we live in now.”
Pterano, suddenly saw wet in his sister’s eyes. He became dumbstruck as he saw his sister leave him to himself and his troubles. Blood Fang never cried. She was too strong. Unless, she did so before without Pterano seeing her? Or maybe this day would be her first time doing so.
He looked to the sky and saw it darker than ever. A rain drop fell to his head. He looked to the valley and realized that his sister was correct. They should have attacked the valley when it was weak. Now the land will replenish and the members of the valley will have strength. Pterano lowered himself to kowtow under the rain.
Once I called you family. Once I had the chance to be loved. Was all I ever wanted!
Pterano felt so helpless, so scared, and so stupid that he would do this to his younger sister and her children. His favorite nephew too!
Within the heart of the valley, suddenly, everyone shouted with joy. Angel awoke Petrie. He felt weak under her embrace, but once he saw the pouring rain, he shouted with joy.
“Petrie, you see, the council is watching over us.” Angel said in a tired voice and a with a drained expression, like that of an elderly flyer.
Petrie nuzzled her, understanding that she was weary from working so hard to heal all of these dinosaurs. However, despite their tiredness, they splashed in the puddles and gathered up as much water as they could in their hands and drank so many handfuls.
The rest of the Great Valley dinosaurs and Air Clan members sang to the council in thanks for giving them life and being by their side, even through the war. Little Foot, Ducky, Spike, Cera, and Petrie’s siblings danced under the rain in sheer joy and thankfulness.
“Thank the council! We have life!” Reggie cried in complete happiness.
Kaskae salreiki right under the rain and gave silent thank you to the council.
Thank you council. You have blessed us at the right time.
“Ι σενδ τηε τηθνδερ φρομ τηε σκυ. Ι σενδ τηε φιρε ραινινγ δοςν!” (I send the thunder from the sky, I send the fire raining down!)
Suddenly, a great roll of thunder erupted in the sky. A shrill screech came from both sides of the valley. A thundering roar rolled from the North and South points of the valley. After that, a flash of lighting flew down at the dead tree. Fire suddenly arose from the tree and jumped off it and onto the dead ground. The fire suddenly spread around.
However, it was a beautiful mix between water and fire. Most of the flames were diminished.
Most of the dinosaurs stood back in fear, but the Air Clan warriors did something very remarkable and almost hard to believe.
Kaskae led a chant of simple, yet powerful humming. They surrounded the fire and acted as a living wall between the fire and the Great Valley dinosaurs. Cera and the strongest Great Valley dinosaurs joined them.
Like in the ceremony, the Air Clan members twirled in rapid movements like the wind around the fire. They looked as if they were literally grabbing the rain drops and using at them as whips to cut down the fire.
Angel and every other Air Clan warrior ended the fight with a very hard blow at the fire, in which the fire was whipped out in seconds.
Ducky had rain drops flowing down her arms. In very slow motion, the water worked as thousands of whips, lashing at the fire.
Despite the successes, the lighting flashed more and more at the valley and more fire came.
Tirelessly, energized by the council, the Air Clan warriors fought madly to protect those they loved. So did the Great Valley dinosaurs.
Even now, I wish Jagged Fang chose another serving as your foe on Her behalf, was the last thing I wanted.
Pterano stared at this in horror and agony as this was taking place. He turned toward his group, which stared back at him with anticipation and puzzlement.
“Everyone, creep quietly down this mountain wall, and lower yourselves, so no one can see you. Take your time too, I don’t want anyone to slip and ruin our surprise attack.”
Everyone thought this was a good plan and started to climb down, being very light on their feet. Pterano turned to a feathered flyer, whose wings were as silent as the black night itself.
“I want you, with your quiet wings to give my message to Blood Fang, to do the same as us here. Quickly now!”
The bright colored, feathered flyer nodded and took off, without making any sound.
Once Blood Fang got the message, her side did the same as Pterano’s side.
The sharp teeth on the north and south sides scratched the sides, trying so hard to be patient, but zestful to get in the valley, so they could taste the fresh blood of Air Clan and the Great Valley. The teeth of the victims would be neatly stored as part of their master’s chokers, as trophies, the skins would be used for scooping water so they could quench their thirst, as decor for the walls, and as capes for the imperials and generals. The organs would be for mere appetizers and the bones would be for frames for future structures that His Pestilence wanted to build for Jagged Fang’s ever increasing empire. The only memory in their minds would be that they killed their prey. The details of the victims would be out of their heads because Jagged Fang did not want them to remember the details of the victims, how they would cry for mercy, how the tears and blood splattered from their bodies.
“I send a hail of burning ice,” The priests and slaves of Blood Clan chanted.
“On every field, on every town...”
The fire was completely wiped out, but as it kept raining, hail came down. Everyone stopped fighting the fire and looked up, realizing that the hail was too big to enjoy the water that was contained in the ice.
“Everyone watch out!” Angelina yelled in warning and made herself and Reggie go down on the ground and Regina covered Angel’s head with her wing. Angel covered Reggie’s head with her wing as well.
Everyone else did the same and felt the striking pain of the ice on their backs. Tria covered her egg with her entire body, however, she too felt the sharp pains on her back.
Petrie looked to all of this in dismay. Tears began to well up in his eyes. Then he heard a scream that flashed him back to the physical world. He looked to his left and saw that his sister Marie was in sharp pain because of the ice. He dragged himself toward her and replied, “Here, get under my wing.”
He covered her head and she covered his.
This was my home.
He looked around him as he thought of this.
“All of this pain and devastation, how it tortures me inside!”
Marie repiled tearfully, “All of the innocent who suffer,”
Angel finished her sentence as she glared up at the moving figures sliding down the cliff side.
“From their stubbornness and pride!”
(I send the locusts on a wind, such as the world has never seen, on every leaf, on every stalk, until there's nothing left of green, I send my scourge, I send my sword. Thus saith the Goddess and the Lord!)
The sharp teeth broke loose from the north and south ends, they had to break loose, their blood thirsty natures could not resist the dying bodies that were ahead of them. They were blood thirsty, but insanely stupid. The hail brought sharp pains to their bodies as they raced through the north and south ends. Some of them fell to meet their deaths, the rest were able to reach the dinosaurs and try to slaughter them all.
Ducky and Zona were behind the dead tree, waiting for the right time...
The sharp teeth then felt hail coming sideways to their eyes. They were blinded for life.
Ducky and Zona moved along with the hail and water, and threw the stones at the sharp teeth. Surprisingly enough, not a single hail stone marked the two swimmers. However, as successful as they were, more hail just kept coming, and so did the sharp teeth.
Pterano shook his head in pity and embarrassment. Shadow Heart slapped his hand to his face, the plan was going all wrong. Next thing Blood Clan saw, was even more stupid than the sharp teeth attacking without a signal, the eldest Blood Clan prince came out of hiding and waved his arms to the sharp teeth and yelled at them, “Stop that you scatter brained sharp teeth! You weren’t supposed to do that!”
Blood Fang hung in her head low in disappointment, at least on Pterano’s behalf, but she wasn’t the least surprised by her other brother’s stupidity.
Shadow Heart suddenly eyed Petrie, and his Blood Clan instinct had its green light on. With an unearthly cry, he lounged at Petrie, but Petrie was prepared, he slashed at Shadow Heart’s eye.
Shadow Heart screeched in pain of the exceedingly sharp claws. He had his hand on his eye and stared at Petrie with his scared eye.
“Well, I never thought I would see you, a cursed son of my so-called little sister, Black Fang. Who is now called Rebecca.”
Jeez, no wonder why mom changed her name.
Petrie thought to himself as he heard his mother’s former name.
“And I thought I would never see you. My other cursed uncle of Blood Clan.”
Petrie replied with his eyes narrowed. Marie narrowed her eyes at Shadow Heart, realizing that her other brother Branson had some resemblance to the dark flyer. Marie stood herself up besides the hail falling on her.
Shadow Heart’s eyes suddenly was filled with rage at Petrie’s words.
He released the hold of his eyes and Marie gasped at this sight. Petrie grabbed her wrist and didn’t loose Shadow Heart’s glare.
“Courage Marie, he alone is no threat to us.”
Shadow Heart smiled at this as he was getting ready to strike.
“Hm, you’re pretty dang smart I’ll admit, I am weak alone, but with these dumb bums around me, I’m sure I could beat the living day lights out of you,” Shadow Heart then turned to Marie’s frightened expression. He smirked at the sight of her weakness. “And your sweet little sister.”
The sharp teeth surrounded Petrie and Marie. Marie and Petrie were back to back. Marie was shaking, but Petrie stood his ground.
Suddenly, a strong wind threw Shadow Heart off balance. He gasped at this feeling of unbalance. The sharp teeth looked to the source of the wind, and Angel, with Ducky right behind her; slashed at the sharp teeth with her awesome power of her breath, the wind, and her claws. Quick as the wind, she slashed every sharp tooth in contact. She even twirled around like a torpedo, slashing her sharp claws the sharp teeth. Ducky was easily able to get the hail out of Angel’s way.
Petrie and Marie gasped in awe at the two dinosaurs.
Pterano saw this scene happen and gasped as he saw more of the Air Clan warriors rising up to help Angel, Ducky, Petrie, and Ducky to fight off the Blood Clan sharp teeth and Shadow Heart.
You who I called family, why must you come down this way so?
Pterano shook his head as he saw his nephew fighting.
Suddenly, something inside him made him holler with cupped hands around his beak. “Let yourselves go!”
Τηθσ σαιτη τηε Γοδδεσσ ανδ τηε ΛΟρδ! (Thus saith the Goddess and the Lord!)
“Thus saith the Goddess and the Lord!” Every Blood Clan member in the world hollered this out to the dinosaurs of the Great Valley.
Petrie paused in the battle and saw the Blood Clan warriors among the west side. Pterano was in the lead.
He gasped at this, he dropped to his knees and closed his eyes and began to sob at this.
His mother, Rebecca saw Pterano as well and flew over to face the murderous Blood Clan.
“You who I called family, how could you have come to betray us so?!”
Rebecca, in a very fiery tone and with clenched teeth she extented her hand out and revealed to them the destruction they have caused and the pain and suffering of the Great Valley.
“IS THIS WHAT YOU WANTED?”
Ι σενδ τηε σςαρμ, Ι σενδ τηε ηορδε (I send the swarm, I send the horde...)
Petrie, being inspired by his mother’s words, he rose himself to face his uncle. He went to his mother’s side and declared, “Then let our hearts be hardened
and never mind how much you condemn us you know.”
Petrie looked to the east side of the Great Valley where Blood Fang lead the other set of Blood Clan warriors.
“This will still be so, we will never let ourselves go!”
Τηθσ σαιτη τηε Γοδδεσσ ανδ τηε Λορδ (Thus saith the Goddess and the Lord)
Τηθσ σαιτη τηε Γοδδεσσ ανδ τηε Λορδ (Thus saith the Goddess and the Lord)
Every single Air Clan warrior faced the east side of the Great Valley, in which they were back to back with the Great Valley dinosaurs, who took on the west side of the Great Valley, along with Rebecca and Petrie. Every single soul in the Great Valley, the whole world, every tree, every river, every ocean, every lake, every fish, even every fruit all sang:
“We not let ourselves...”
“Let yourselves...”
“GO!”
Because of this vibration of the world, everyone got a spark of energy for two things. Either for “revolution” or for “domination”.
The only ones that were completely sad about this was Kaskae and the other much wiser beings, and of course the spirits of the council, and everything enter-twined.
